Also, I want to reiterate the various endorsement of Disqus. It's not perfect, but it's the best of the various products I've used (at least from the perspective of the commenters).

The whole comment scene has become such a swamp that I stopped commenting entirely, despite being one of the first people on the internet. I don't use Facebook or Twitter so in fact can't comment in many places.

Try it without registration, see if it works. Never fail to seize the opportunity for experiment.
Disqus so much better than Coral

I agree with Dave Ferguson; try it without and see if it works. You can always add the requirement to register later if the trolls start showing up.

Register? Yes. It's not a question of IF but WHEN the trolls arrive.

Three commenting features I've always appreciated are 1) being able to view comments in either Oldest or Newest order; 2) collapsible subthreads; 3) "upvotes" for when all I want to say is "good comment, I concur". Unless the theme already supports these, Disqus is probably the easiest option. But I assume there's a financial cost there. Coral would certainly eliminate me as a visitor. You can decide if that's a feature or a bug.

P.S. This orange on white editor text is a little intense. Perhaps a burnt orange would be easier on my geezer eyes.
