I'm bored. It's dex night and I can't sleep but I have nothing to do. I'd like to play with my telescope but it's too cloudy even for testing.
So how about if we update our gasoline price chart? It annoys conservatives, so it's worth doing:
The price of gasoline just keeps going down, down, and then down some more. Why? Because the price of oil has dropped about 25% since its June peak and gasoline is following along. It still has a ways to go to catch up, though, so we should continue to see gasoline prices decline for at least another week or two.
I wonder if that price spike resulted in fewer miles driven. Is there reliable data on US gasoline retail sales by the gallon?
Probably here somewhere.

I like to say "Thanks to Joe Biden" when I'm talking to my Republican friends. Their reaction makes my heart happy.
Dark Brandon has risen.
The GQP is in full retreat.
" It annoys conservatives"
You shouldn't use "conservative" when you mean "Republicans" or "Trumpists".
"conservative" has a meaning that implies being inside the spectrum of sane politics.
But how many of those can you count?
I agree there aren't many of these, but f they don't exist then don't talk about them.
Using "Conservative" instead of "Republican"/"Trumpist" is both insulting to anybody who is actually conservative, and gives far too much credit to the "Republican/Trumpist".
I prefer to call them “bat shit crazy right wingers”.
Adjusting for inflation is nuts. In the short term people care about nominal prices.
OK, then you can ignore the orange line and just look at the green line.
Counted at least 16 local stations with prices under $4 - only 2 are cash-only. But the people who are in enormous pickups & SUVs will still be complaining.
Kevin, shirley the price drop has nothing to do with the price of oil but everything to do with Big Oil’s sinister plot to influence the elections having been exposed…
Below $4/gallon gives Dems a fighting chance. $3/gallon would be much better.
Now how about the price of eggs. And chicken.
Flocks should be (have?) recovered from bird flu cullings, so prices should be getting back to "normal" soon, I hope--barring another round of flu this fall....
Beef will stay high. Drought out west is very damaging. It's really not good:
