Nice photo. I’m assuming that is not Mammoth mountain as it seems Mammoth is a couple hundred miles from LA. I think……,hey, I live in Maine…

Mt San Jacinto? Mt Baldy -- the one you see in shots of downtown LA in winter in the background -- is too far north I think, assuming this pic is taken in Irvine.

Nice photo. Being a native Californian, I love it. Lots of not so great things, but every state has not so great things. The list, however, of great things is in my opinion long.

It's up to a balmy 9°F here in southeast Ohio. An improvement over yesterday, when it hovered around -3°F all day long. A light dusting of snow, but not enough to make travel difficult. And our power is still on.
I saw a mink running through our back yard (i.e., forest) yesterday morning. We're a pretty long way from any water, so it must have been quite hungry.

About 10°F here, an hour north of NYC. Good news is that the temp will continue to rise overnight and the next few days.
As a traditionalist, we will be serving Chinese Food tomorrow.

Wishing Mr. Drum and all my fellow atheists a happy and peaceful Christmas Day. And for the Christians in the crowd… a song.
Born is Jesus Christ the King,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Joy and peace to all he brings,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Upon this day all people sing
To hear the news the angels bring.
To free mankind from fear and sin,
And all the bells on earth do ring.
Shepherds saw the angels bright,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Shining through the dark of night,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Upon this day all people sing
To hear the news the angels bring.
To free mankind from fear and sin,
And all the bells on earth do ring.
Kings there came and gifts they bare,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
To worship Christ the child so rare,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
To hear the news the angels bring,
To free mankind from fear and sin,
Upon this day all people sing Noel, Noel, Noel, . . . !
Blessed be the Holy Child,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
And his mother Mary mild.
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Upon this day all people sing
To hear the news the angels bring.
To free mankind from fear and sin,
And all the bells on earth do ring.
Blessed be the Trinity,
Alleluia, Alleluia,
Mankind is forever free,
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Upon this day all people sing
To hear the news the angels bring.
To free mankind from fear and sin,
And all the bells on earth do ring.
Ring, ring, ring, ring . . . !
Alleluia!

Now that's nice! I love the superimposition of the palm trees and snow covered peaks!
It was 24 this morning just before sunrise, and we got a text from relatives in Corpus Christi saying it was 23 there. As the day wore on, it got up to 50 here; no further word from Tejas...
I hate you. And Merry Christmas! (I prefer snow/cold anyway. It’s why I moved to Denver.)

chill out...

Noooo, you need to tell people about the earthquakes and the, uh, terrible life we have here. They might want to move here otherwise.

We're coming out of some wild weather up here in NW WA. A storm on the 18th put down a nice ice slick, then a major snow storm started on the night of the 19th and put down 18 inches to greet us on the morning of the 20th. We spent a good bit of time working with the neighbors to get dug out - fortunately the plows did make it onto the secondary roads. Then on the 23rd we got a sleet and ice storm that added a couple of more inches and a good, crunchy, slick layer of ice. We're house sitting two places for the relatives who are down in the LA area. Yesterday I suited up to go to the other house (about a mile and a half away) to check on their cat - having to do the Bigfoot stomp a lot of the way to break through the crust instead of landing on my butt. Much more strenuous than normal hiking. Cat and house were fine, I replenished a deep water dish and two bowls of cat food gave her a brush down, and left as the cat started murderous activities involving one of her toys.

You exemplify the true spirit of Christmas, sir.

I can't resist creatures with big chibi eyes. Not the cat, the relatives...

My buddy's mother makes $50 per hour working on the computer (Personal Computer). She hasn’t had a job for a long, yet this month she earned $11,500 by working just on her computer for 9 hours every day.
