Coronavirus Growth in Western Countries: June 22 Update

Sweden suddenly announced 34 new deaths on Tuesday, so apparently someone finally came into the office and plowed through a week's worth of local reports. It's good to see that the Swedish health bureaucracy is finally lumbering back into action.

Here’s the officially reported coronavirus death toll through June 22. The raw data from Johns Hopkins is here.

Kevin, I'm pretty sure that "mystery" was answered the other day when you asked the question, where Sweden shut down their database because of possible security breach for a while.

3 states plus NMI have cases at/below 1 per day/100K: VT, MA, MD.
    SD bounced up to 1.1
17 states, plus NMI, PR and DC now below 2 new cases/day/100K.
Three states with infection rates above 1.1: OK, MO, AR, with MO caseload now up to 11.3 (only one above 10). % vaccinated 41-44% for these states, though not evenly distributed. MO outbreak has been reported to be driven by the Delta variant.
Still have 5 states below 40% vaccinated (first dose, total population): MI, LA, WY, AL, ID. Just waiting to see if the MO outbreak picks up steam in AR and moves through LA, MS and AL....like a slow motion train wreck you can not stop....

As for vaccinations among adults: now at 65.5% (first dose, adults).
VA crossed over the 70% threshold earlier this week. Looks like MN and DE won't make it until next week.
