Inflation stays well controlled in July

Inflation remained moderate in July, with CPI rising at an annual rate of 1.9% since the previous month. Core CPI came in at 2.0%.

On a conventional year-over year basis, CPI was up 2.9% and core CPI was up 3.2%

    But if JD Vance has it right, the inflation rate is set to skyrocket.

    Vance: "Thanks to Kamala Harris's spending policies, the average new car costs nearly $50,000 a year."

    Inflation is almost non-existant across the economy except for the housing component.
    Housing inflation in the CPI is on a long lag, so its likely that actual current housing inflation is much lower.
    Higher interest rates increase housing related inflation due to higher rental demand.

    The Fed is once again way, way behind. Or perhaps they are persuing other goals outside of their direct mandate.
