Monday was the start of Milky Way season. It was the first time in 2022 that the core of the Milky Way rose at a decent hour (around 1 am) and there was no moon. Since it was a dex night for me, I went out to take some pictures.
But I couldn't find it. It was too cloudy. Boo. So instead I just shot a few pictures of the night sky, including this one on Ortega Highway. It's nothing special, but still kind of pretty.

Awfully bright for 1 am and no Moon.
A camera can sit there awhile and gather a lot more light than your eye since it's only gotta create one image, not a movie like your eye has to. 😉
Well...as long as Kevin doesn't get hit by a car sitting in the middle of the road like that...
😉
A worthy point and a good warning. My guess is that "Omega highway" at 2 am or so has very little traffic. But I don't know from personal experience.
Ortega Highway, that should be, of course.
Kevin has lost the Milky Way.
The road up to my favorite location doesn't open for a couple.more weeks. After that I can hardly wait. I'll probably even by a tracker this year.
Play the five tones...
Is that a black cloud over his head?
Reminds me of the promotional materials for Close Encounters.
