With spring in full bloom, our oriole has made a triumphant return to the front garden. This year I got a much better picture of him, thanks to a tripod, a remote shutter release, and a couple of days of obsessive watching.
Our orioles (there's also a female around) like to drink the sugar water from our hummingbird feeder. That means my camera was pointed at the feeder and got lots of shots of our hummingbirds as well. I've included one as a bonus photo today.
What they're going on about outside my window, at 3 am,

The other day I saw on the side of the road a baby possum.
Now, let's be honest, the possum is up there with the naked mole rat as one of the few truly disgusting mammals. But a baby possum (the size of mouse!) is every bit as cute as any other baby animal! Hope he found his way back home.
Why do you find possums "truly disgusting"? (Serious question.)
That Oriole is as close to neon coloring as any living creature I've seen, even allowing for any distortion due to my screen. Brighter than both the red feeder platform & the hummingbird!
A Hooded Oriole and an Allen’s Hummingbird, right?
Snazzy looking birds nevertheless...
Scale bars? California schools always leave them out.
😉
Which is which?
Hmmmm, cat snacks.
