Lunchtime Photo

This is some hot buying and selling action at the Montreuil Flea Market in Paris. It's one of the three big flea markets in the city, but it was a disappointment: basically just a bunch of ordinary goods like this being sold at arguably ordinary prices. Are all the Paris flea markets like this? Or did we just unluckily pick the most boring one?

Yes, but the last time I was at St Ouen (6-7 years ago) I thought it was pretty ho-hum too. They did have a lot of furniture and antiques, but not much of the funky little stands with all kinds of miscellaneous junk. That kind of flea market is largely disappearing with everything being sold online. The Waterlooplein flea market in Amsterdam used to be like that, but has also become pretty generic in recent years. Still fun, though.

Do they still have flea markets on drive-in movie lots in middle America? I haven't heard of any recently.
