Yah, it's sweet corn season too, and I haven't seen a decent ear yet this year.

We've been picking and eating strawberries now for at least 4 weeks here in South Carolina. Your season is just starting?

Strawberries are trash. Blackberries FTW!

If you are ever in OR in the summertime and you try boysenberries and marion berries from the many roadside stands, you will be in heaven, my friend.

Huckleberries, gooseberries, & jostaberries - even better.
And don't forget the rhubarb.

You need to try real locally grown strawberries. I never buy strawberries in a grocery store, I only buy them at local farmer's markets, my favorite grower is from Virginia's Northern Neck region, nice sandy soil.
Funny but I don't like Blackberries, all skin and seeds, I prefer Raspberries.

Here in FL strawberry season is back in February. I think the whole thing with the central valley in CA is that you don't really have seasons. With the right amount of water and fertilizer you can grow anything year round on that great big industrial patch of sand.

By a remarkable chance I am just back from buying strawberries.

Kevin, does it matter whether the strawberries were US-grown?
That said, I’ve been harvesting strawberries from my plants for several weeks now. SF Bay Area.
And raspberries for a week or so.

If you are talking about strawberries in the area where Kevin lives you have to remember the legendary strawberry farmer Hiroshi Fujishige who owned land adjacent to Disneyland and who, until he died, refused to sell his land to Disney, Inc. despite huge amounts of money being offered. All he wanted was to be a strawberry farmer on that property. After his death his family finally sold the property and Disney was able to expand the park. Here’s one of the many stories about him: https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/business/1994/03/09/strawberry-fields-forever/eefbd656-8d90-4e95-b399-d2c5cfd3fd4d/
