Cases going up in OR, but dropping or steady in most other states. Note results may vary if looking at regions within states, but overall, not bad. Numbers in MI and NJ and NY dropping like a brick. PR has plateaued as has CO. And NH dropped our of the red zone (25+ new cases/day/100K).
Drop in cases has not always made it over to drop in hospitalizations or deaths yet.
Ten states plus PR in the red. Seven states yellow (10 or below). And NMI in the green (1 or less).
Four states with 50% or more vaccinated (1st shot).
At the other end, nine states between 30-35%.
The top nine states in number of new cases all have 40% or more injected. FL at #10 has 39.4% injected. No vaccination data for PR.

Still mask up. Vaccinations still not at levels to stop outbreaks in their tracks. If you're fully vaccinated--then maybe use a more comfortable mask if there is not an active outbreak in your area.

Biden administration needs to release the vaccines not approved for use in our country so others can use them. And make it easier to get some waivers from defense production act so some percentage of production can be shipped overseas.

The first step should be easy enough. We have enough production of approved vaccines that we will not need the others by the time they get approved. We can still hold a small reserve and still have the options of acquiring current production as needed.
The second step may take more finesse. Basically insure that our production goals are being met first.

    In the US:

Rank State Cumulative Deaths/million State Cumulative Deaths State 7-Day Trailing Deaths/Million/Day
    1 New Jersey 2852 California 61401 Michigan 6.08
2 New York 2667 New York 51892 New Jersey 3.76
    3 Massachusetts 2543 Texas 49877 Pennsylvania 3.50
    4 Rhode Island 2511 Florida 34759 New York 3.10
    5 Mississippi 2411 Pennsylvania 25927 Alabama 2.94
    6 Arizona 2368 New Jersey 25328 Montana 2.94
    7 Connecticut 2257 Illinois 24083 West Virginia 2.87
    8 Louisiana 2223 Georgia 19917 Florida 2.85
    9 South Dakota 2212 Ohio 19122 Kentucky 2.75
    10 Alabama 2211 Michigan 18283 Georgia 2.68

My having a chart of "Batting Title States" (cumulative rate >= 420/million) seems so ... quaint now. There are only two states which have yet to surpass that level:
    52 Vermont 389
    53 Hawaii 337
    54 Virgin Islands 252
    55 Northern Mariana Islands 36
    56 American Samoa 0

      Zero in American Samoa?

This is the future the whole country could have known had we elected El Bloombito to the presidency.

All eyes should be on India. They might not come close to reporting all the covid-caused deaths in their country, but it wouldn't shock me if they end up having more reported covid deaths than the United States.

Turkey and Iran are still facing large and rising death tolls.

Deaths are again trending down in most of Europe and the Americas.
