In non-Western matters, doings in India: https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/04/05/coronavirus-covid-live-updates-us/?outputType=amp “ India announces 100,000 new cases a day, as new wave of infections risks spinning out of control”
Speaking of which: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp/ncna1262982 “ First confirmed case of Indian coronavirus variant in U.S. found in California”
Not a lot of change in the US--though reporting is a bit behind in places (weekend plus Easter), though TX maybe ready to jump into the pool (10 new cases/day/100K or lower). Most other states seem to be in a holding pattern.
Riffing on rick_jones post, CNN has discussion of variants in US in their Monday covid articles--namely B.1.1.7 (got the ones right this time) does infect school age kids:

May the mask be with you.
