  1. Counterfactual

Real world vaccine efficacy data indicating the same over 90% effectiveness as the phase trials, minimal side effects so far, death rates dropping exponentially. Don't want to jinx it, but there seems to be an abundance of good news.

Of course if you don't want to have to break from the worrying of the last year cold turkey, we do have the South African variant to worry about.

Clearly off-topic (OT), but referring the the header image that came up for me, "Harry Dotsun Park" ... it looks more like "Harry Datsun".

(for those old enough to remember that Nissan used to be Datsun. I hope this isn't construed as racism, although it probbly will be.)

There's an old joke that goes something like this:
Japanese auto manufacturing executive calls up the European marketing chief with an urgent request:
"Hans, we think 'Nissan' sounds, ah, too Japanese, and we would like for you to recommend a brand name we can use worldwide, and we'd like to get your suggestion by the end of this week."
      "Dot soon??"
"'Datsun?' Excellent! Thank you very much."

            It was actually informative.

I had always thought Datsun was just a less expensive medallion under the same corporate ownership as Nissan. (Just like Chevy v. Cadillac within the GM family.)

Again, the winter storms are creating reporting artifacts. Numbers are falling, but not by as much as it seems. Next week will be catch up--so it will look like they are not falling as fast. In TX, new cases have fallen off a cliff because there's basically no testing. Officially, Texas has been messed with--and Mother Nature won.

I was 30 years old when I learned "don't mess with texas" was part of Lady Bird Johnson's highway beatification effort as First Lady.

      This was 2010.

Could be the weather, but the pace of vaccination has fallen, which is disturbing. I'm not sure Sleepy Joe is the man to infuse energy into anything.

Sure, there are anti-anti-Trump Flefties like Michael Tracey & Glemm Greemwald, but some Flefties don't like Trump while also calling El Tio Pepe Demento Joe.
