And now we're up to six states under caution...
Four have new cases/day/100K average above 10, with NV jumping to the lead: (state, cases, infection rate)
    NV 12.7 1.20
    MO 12.6 1.16
    WY 11.4 0.98
    UT 10.3, 1.09
    and knocking on the door
    AR 9.6 1.15
with cases going up relatively quickly in
    OK 5.0 1.19

And hospitalizations is going up in these areas too since most of the infections are among the un-vaccinated.
Note, the MO outbreak shows up in the county map of cases, and speads out to AR, with some spillover to OK, IL and KS. The NV outbreak does show up strongly in the county maps so appears to be more diffuse.

Local areas can see rapid rise in cases, but state wide, numbers are not taking off like before. Which is good. Vaccination is helping.

should note: data from CovidActNow. The infection rate numbers are lagging indicators. Other states with rates starting to go back up (infection rates >1.5):
      states, cases, infection rates:
      MS 4.3 1.07
      TX 4.4 1.06
      AZ 6.6 1.05

I suspect there is going to be an uptick in cases and deaths in the next month. Masking and social distancing restrictions have been lifted, supposedly for the vaccinated, but it’s obvious the unvaccinated are also not masking. Where I am, San Mateo County, California, most people continue masking in grocery stores and shopping. I see very few unmasked. I visited Sonoma for a few days and grocery stores there had about half the shoppers unmasked. I ordered take-out from a local restaurant/bar and was literally the only person wearing a mask even though there was a very crowded bar area. Ironically, I’ll bet the majority of masked people have had the vaccine.

Yeah. I'm guessing the rise in cases in NV is due to tourism. Infection rates have bumped up, even if not all have gotten above 1. That's also a lagging indicator, so expect more numbers to go up.

Of course variants are starting to amok too....

    Hey Kevin-
I note that from all the Graphs that there's ONLY ONE country from the southern hemisphere where winter is approaching and that is Argentina
Can we add another southern hemisphere country to get a sense of - if going indoors is still causing issues?
