Days to 70% vaccinated, by state:
top five (population), first dose, full vaccinated
CA 63, 70
TX 133, 127
FL 101, 102
NY 68, 67
PA 47, 72
some low vaccination states:
GA 212, 182
AL 248, 190
Just done using CovidActNow data for first dose percentages and fully vaccinated, averaging over past 10 days. The rates for first dose have fallen off, the second dose rates lag the first dose ones, so are still higher. Also, the fully vaccinated includes both the second dose and J&J (single dose only) vaccinations. I hope the people looking at this in more detail can build a better model and present vaccination data in terms of days to 70%. Also, milestones should be marked by reduced Covid restrictions. Vaccinated individuals can meet privately with friends and family if all are vaccinated, but restrictions in stores, bars, etc., stay in place until vaccination levels high in local populations. Ok, the ship has sailed on this...and new outbreaks will happen and they will spur more vaccinations....
Mustn’t call it the “Indian variant” … https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/may/22/india-orders-removal-of-content-referring-to-indian-variant
