Donald Trump ordered to pay Hillary Clinton $172,000

Several months ago Donald Trump lost his bizarre lawsuit against an array of his worst imagined enemies. On Thursday his enemies had their say:

A Florida-based federal judge has ordered nearly $1 million in sanctions against Donald Trump and his attorney Alina Habba, calling the former president a “mastermind of strategic abuse of the judicial process.”...In the new order, Hillary Clinton got the biggest award of fees for a single defendant: almost $172,000.

Losing the lawsuit is bad enough. Getting fined a million bucks is bad enough. But having a huge chunk of the fine go directly to Hillary Clinton? Priceless.

Clinton should announce that she's contributing the entire sum to ________. My brain is foggy and I need someone else to fill in the blank. What would piss off Trump the most?

POSTSCRIPT: Today Trump dropped his lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James. Coincidence? I doubt it.

Any charity or gofundme campaign benefiting the officers or families of the Jan 6 Capitol police who were injured or died would be nice.

Not yet and not very likely, either. I believe that she practices and is licensed in Florida. I don’t think it’s possible to lose your license for doing MAGA-related stuff in Florida. Honestly, I’m not sure it’s possible to lose it at all unless you do volunteer work for the ACLU or the Democratic Party.

This is a wonderful outcome because:

    1) Trump is an evil jerk

    2) Frivolous lawsuits are a horrible byproduct of our legal system: its a weapon that perverts' the system.

I kind of assumed that most of it was lawyers fees rather than any sort of 'damages' - the case appears to have had a lot of 'defendants' who all presumably had to retain legal counsel, so the costs would have mounted. TBH $170k doesn't seem wholly unreasonable to me (setting aside the argument that all legal costs are unreasonable in one sense.)
The trick will be seeing how many 'donors' Trump can get to pay it for him.

Give it to any of the causes Trump scammed with his fake charities. Like maybe the one whose event he went to and walked right up to the stage and sat in a seat intended for someone actually involved.

Or just spend it on a big ol' email server, just because.

Would sure like to see that as a headline or chyron on all media in the US.

As for the donation, I'm also certain that she'll think of something after a good chuckle - can almost hear her now!

Disappointing to read in the ruling:
    - - - - - - -
"this case required excellent lawyering to defend against the overwhelming number of convoluted allegations and frivolous claims"
    - - - - - - -
    --> Required excellent lawyering <--

That's an advantage for those that practice "shotgun pleading" and "abusive litigation" (misbehavior mentioned in the ruling) Not everybody can avail themselves of excellent lawyering.

The legal profession should be embarrassed that "excellent lawyering" is needed. That requires money and talent (the ruing mentioned the high caliber of lawyers for Clinton et al). The system should prevent such abuses, not lawyers for those targeted by Trump (or other people targeted by litigants who follow Trump's example).
