I was pretty pleased with the egret photo I showed you on Thursday, so today you get the whole sequence of the egret taking off from its perch. I wish I could have kept it centered longer, but I've never had very steady hands and they're getting unsteadier all the time. So five is all you get.

NO AGRETS!
Indeed a most egrettable post ...
Nice shots. That is quite some wingspan!
Wonderful photos -- of one of the most gorgeous birds on our planet.
I've had a few…
Every time I would go to the local outpost of chain Italian restaurant Maggiano's Little Italy with my Italian-American mom, I would genuflect at the host station on entry, out of respect for the picture of Frank they kept there.
A man who shared some great gifts with us all.
I egret nothing! Bring me the raspberry pudding and a paintbrush . . .
Those are lovely shots!
I guess heron these parts a pun is mandatory, so...
If you get into heron all you'll have are egrets.
Get high on life! And faith in Democracy.
Bokeh on the water...very subtle.

Sage words which would sparrow us all would we heedith them… so we should not grouse over their utterance.
It seems that "pretty pleased" is an understatement, resulting in shameless but understandable pride in photographic results- not to mention some rather amazing additional comments.
But they are all worthy captures of that stunning creature in amazing flight & beauty.
Kind of resembles the Concorde supersonic jetliner.
Except for the lack of flaming engines under the wings!
????
Great photos! and the thread comments are pretty awesome too.
