Elon Musk goes to Capitol to kowtow to Republicans

Elon Musk was in Washington DC last night to—

Well, it's not clear exactly what he was there to do. The Washington Post explains:

“Just met with Speaker McCarthy & Rep Jeffries to discuss ensuring that this platform is fair to both parties,” Musk tweeted Thursday evening.

....It remains unclear whether the main purpose of Musk’s visit was to meet with McCarthy alone. An aide to Jeffries told The Washington Post that the Democratic leader and Musk had only a coincidental encounter as the billionaire was leaving his meeting with McCarthy.

It sounds like Musk was actually at the Capitol to meet with Kevin McCarthy to discuss how Twitter could avoid pissing off Republicans. Democrats were, at most, an afterthought.

Perhaps Musk would care to comment on this? It's not as if he's media shy, after all.

Sometimes the orders you receive should remain classified for a bit until they are allowed to be read at toilet time.

If you think it was strictly defensive, you haven't been paying enough attention to Elmo. He's not subtle.

I'd put about equal weight on two possibilities, although it could be both:

    - He has possible money coming from someone really distasteful (Think bone saws or commies) and needs to make a deal

    - He is looking to make a deal on a "Twitter Files 2.0" collab in setting up the coming struggle sessions the Republicans are working themselves up to.

"Keep it up with the anti-vax stuff, Elon, you're very important to us. And don't worry about those Tesla subsidies. We got this."

He was probably there to ask McCarthy to hold hearings into companies that dropped advertising on Twitter. That was something Republicans got upset about, and then forgot a week later a while back.

Well, Musk can tweet about it but you probably shouldn't believe what he tweets since his current defense in this lawsuit is that he's full of crap (well, that is my paraphrase anyway).

Reminds me how CNN execs have (at least twice?) gone to meet GOP in the capital to pledge they'd be kinder to them.

Why would a guy who owns a very popular public forum that is bleeding money want to talk to a Republican who has proven that he's ready to make any deal with anyone who can benefit him?

When I once complained to my father that government wasn't very responsive to the needs of the people, he asked me how much I had recently contributed to their reelection funds?
    I said, "Nothing."
He said, "Then why do you think they would listen to you? You should contribute, you know. Congressmen are very affordable, especially when you consider the benefits."

I work from home with two children and am paid more than $200 per hour. My best friend, who makes over $10,000 a month doing this, persuaded me to give it a shot even though I never believed I'd be able to. This has limitless possibilities. Here are my recent activities. Also, GOOD LUCK.

Musk is just another Randite techboi. Right in time to rescue Ford and GM, he's destroying the market for Tesla cars by his buffoonery. The Wingers aren't going to buy them.

    What a tool.
