The Atlanta Fed has published its final forecast of third-quarter GDP before the official numbers are released tomorrow. Following a disappointing export report this morning, their model now projects a Q3 growth rate of 2.8%.

Around 3% annual GDP growth is pretty good for the world's largest economy--and a leveling off of growth after coming out of the pandemic plunge. Plus, stock markets are hitting record highs.

The consensus was correct. Real GDP at 2.83%. You should recreate Steve Rattner's January post on birdsite on how long it took to recover from each of the last 3 recessions. Very mind-blowing and also a reminder that Larry Summers was 100% wrong.
