This is Charlie in our front yard garden. The picture looks a little different than usual because I was playing with my flash unit. It wasn't night, it was midday, and I was hoping to get a flash photo of one of our hummingbirds. The hummingbirds didn't cooperate, but I killed time by taking fill-flash pictures of the cats as they roamed around wondering what I was up to.

Charlie looks like he's attentively watching said hummingbird. Does he think the hummingbird can't see him if he hides behind some flowers?
Seeing Charlie’s ears and his eyes, why do I think there is one less hummingbird in the world…
Got to say, Charlie is one of the most photogenic cats I have ever seen.
Could someone tell me what those purple flowers are? I have it tentatively identified as some sort of Salvia.
