Here is poor little Hopper in her cone, looking wistfully into the now-forbidden backyard. But there's good news: Her tail seems to be getting better, and tomorrow we have another trip to the vet to find out for sure. And who knows? Maybe things will be in such great shape that we can remove the cone. Thoughts and prayers, people.

That cone must reflect sounds right into her ears.

Maybe it’s the cone of silence.
My 6 yr old granddaughter became hysterical recently when she learned her dog would have to wear “the cone of shame”.
The real insult is if Hilbert is out there, smoking lizards and thumbing his nose at Hopper. Fingers crossed for her full recovery!
Seven personality and behavior traits identified in cats,

Oddly, those are all seven of my personality and behavior traits.
I'm surprised that such a small cone is effective. Long ago, I had a black cat who got an injury to his hindquarters, and he was so flexible that we needed to enlarge the cone to prevent him from reaching around to the injured spots.
That happened with the old dog. He removed his stitches the first night. A grisly scene. We got him sewed back up and a super-long cone. Poor guy.
Yeah when my dog Cowboy got tutored the vet put him in what they called a boo-booballoon. Cowboy promptly slapped the collar and popped it right then and there in the vet's office. Cowboy was much better behaved this year when he had surgery to remove a benign growth that was giving him discomfort, a cloth collar kept him out of trouble.
In fact, she started with a bigger cone. But then we tried the smaller cone and it worked. (We also sprinkled cinnamon at the top of the bandage to discourage her from licking.)
Can she receive Moscow on that?
OT: A cat named Kevin!
