You will be happy to know that Hopper's wound is now completely healed and she is swishing her tail around as if nothing had ever happened. She's convinced that this means she should be let out into the backyard again, but I plan to wait until she's regrown her tail fur. Considering how much fur we brush off the cats every day, you'd think that wouldn't take long. But it does. She probably has another month or two of being trapped inside.

Poor Hopper. My old cat had the back half shaved and it took at least 3 months to fill in. I tried a "jacket" but he was totally against that. Yes, he stayed inside. Best for their own protection.
Looking through the door, do they leave tracks like that all over your bed?
I glad your cat is raring for action (she can’t have.)
My current set of cats are my first inside cats.
It certainly reduces the wear and tear on the 3 of them.
Oh, dear god. What if Clinton dies? Do you think they'd let him? He's not that old. He was cavorting with teenagers just back in the 90s. If he lives, he really should get back out there on the stump. Show 'em all how it's done again. Sure sold me. Bill Clinton is the best whore the Democrats ever put up. And I mean that as a compliment.
Guess there's a reason that some use the phrase "retail politician." Sounds ugly, but not that ugly.
Hmm. I don’t understand why a shaved are on the tail would be a danger? One of our Maine Coon cats needed a “lion cut” because of some matted fur. She is an indoor cat. Except for people laughing at her No problems.
OTOH, you don't want an infection or an abscess.
My Sheltie dog Cowboy had to have a growth removed (benign yeah!) so he had to have a spot on his side shaved. It took about five months to really grow back. But at least my guys are cool with a sweater in the cold weather.
I'm impressed that you are able to resist that beseeching gaze.
I grew up with outdoor cats; as an adult my cats went outdoors. After seeing a program on a PBS station recently (I believe the program was produced by a North Carolina PBS station) that advised people to not have cats go outdoors because they kill too many birds, and other critters, I revised my thinking. Cats are killers, however adorable they may be otherwise.
Think of all the critters who are outside running wild in the yard without the great huntress to put them in their place! It’s chaos without Hopper!
