We ordered a new box for Hopper and it arrived yesterday. As usual, though, there was a bunch of stuff inside that we had to discard before Hopper could use it. I don't know why that keeps happening.

I would think Hopper would soon consider that box to be too large and insist you order a smaller one.
Do you suppose when Hilbert and Hopper see a new box just emptied, they say to each other as my sister and I did seventy years ago, "Look, there's a new fort for us to play in."
Growing up in Baltimore, our first fort was (of course) Fort McHenry, which had the advantage that I could spell it, so I could write the name in big letters on the outside. When I read about Fort Ticonderoga I learned that it was also a "star fort," like Fort McHenry, so I wanted one of those, too. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember how to spell Ticonderoga (hey, give me a break, I was only seven), so we called it Fort Ti.
I wonder why Hopper didn't write the name of her fort on the outside. Do you suppose she didn't know how to spell it? Perhaps she just assumed anybody who saw it would immediately recognize it, so the written name would be superfluous.
Fort Titanium. Sounds good if somewhat difficult to work 🙂
You should have had some Ticonderoga pencils around the house for just the kind of spelling help you needed.

Coincidence?
That's great! How long have you been saving that to spring it on Kevin at an opportune time?
Now you need a cat named Schrödinger.
I have a shoebox that has sat at the exact same spot in my recycling area for years. …. You know why. .// It will never be recycled.
In the kill-box!
What a life.
