Friday Cat Blogging – 24 November 2023

This is Charlie out front gazing at birds flying overhead. Sadly for him, they are just a dream. The crows around here are about as big as he is.

I am glad the crows are safe, unlike the unfortunate lizards, & hope that Charlie remains safe (but doesn't gain any weight).

    He certainly has magnificent whiskers!

I wouldn't be so sure the crows will stay outta reach.
My smallish male cat brought home birds on two occasions. Both times, the birds were still alive, and I let the cat in without looking at him - did not notice he was carrying a pigeon nearly the size of himself, until it started flapping and flying around my house, bouncing off the walls, feathers flying everywhere. My cat chasing it. It was kind of horrible.

Another time he brought a regular-sized squirrel(!) to the window, trying to get me to let him in. I went outside instead, and the squirrel escaped, temporarily... my cat cornered him, and they squared off for an awful battle. I yelled and lightly kicked into the ball of them, and the squirrel escaped. I don't know what became of him, but it probably wasn't good.
