This is Charlie in his favorite lizard hunting grounds. It's the west side of our backyard, which is full of ferns and other low-growing little plants, which makes it a great place to slink around and pretend no one can see you.

Ever since moving to California, I have noticed lizards darting around, but never thought housecats would be eating them. Now that I think about it, makes sense
They are small, and moving. Of course cats will hunt and torment them. Oh yes, and maybe eat them from time to time. But sustenance is second to sadism.

Cats are experts at torture. That’s why it is best that they are small. ….. But they’re soooo cute!
Let me say it before someone else does:
Murderer.
But not guilty because that’s what cats do…
Actually, looking more closely at the picture, it really captures the idea that there is something very, very primitive going on in that feline brain. Almost prehistoric…
The big hunter. What a cute dude.
When my two previous cats were young and more predatory, it was hard to find a lizard around the yard that had a tail.
For the record, we've decided for the benefit of the local fauna (especially birds) to keep the two new kittens as indoor cats.
I'm a little surprised you didn't crop the hose and faucet off the right side of this photo.
It would be easy to do and put the focus on the cat's face without the distraction of the unnatural blue and green.
