Not that nice. Sure you get whisked around on AF1, but you can't pop into your favorite joint for a beer or a burger without shutting down half the city. I'll take my good old anonymity, thanks.

That's probably by helicopter. You can charter from outfits like Star and Blade for somewhere between $500 to $2K depending on distance, passenger count and how much crap you are hauling. Of course, if you are flying private, you'd just land at SMO if that's where you are going.

Back when Obama was president, the Secret Service detail leading the presidential convoy would start out by saying “let’s go make more Republicans”.

See, this is why I always thought Vice-President was the best job. You don’t have to do anything. You get to go all over the world and stay in luxurious hotels and residences. You eat at the finest restaurants and don’t have to worry about making a reservation. You go to sporting events and sit in luxury boxes. You go to any show you like, and you get to meet people you admire and they are honored to meet you. You fly in a private jet and don’t have to concern yourself with traffic when on the road. You have Secret Service protection but really you don’t have to concern yourself with assasination. What kind of loser goes after the Vice-President? When it’s over with you can return to anonymity if you want. Maybe give a few speeches for lots of money.
      Yep, my kind of job.

I think I've related this once before...

A friend who was a Baltimore City firefighter perished in a fire. The City pulled out all the stops for the funeral. The owner of the Orioles gave the family and friends several hours for a reception/wake at Camden Yards. The ride from Parkville to the Yards with police escort at fifty to sixty miles an hour on surface streets was exhilarating but an incomplete salve to our grief. He would have been ecstatic though had he been in the Dodge Omni that I rode in.

1 hour and 8 minutes by public transportation. When they finally complete the automated people mover at LAX, the Metro rail system will be as good as PDX.

I took Amtrak's Coast Starlight out of LA through Santa Monica last week, and while it's an hour longer than Biden's ride, it's a hell of a lot more pretty

Heh if you live in DC you are always at risk of getting trapped in a traffic jam caused by the euphemistic phrase "Official Movements" in the traffic reports on WTOP. The risk is higher on foggy/stormy days when using Marine One isn't a good idea.
