It has been an unusually cold winter...nights are frequently sub 40 degrees...and I have an old drafty house built in 1936 (very few electrical outlets needed in 1936!), so double duvet covered comforters for me.
Take some NyQuil, (CVS variant is fine), be gentle with yourself.

I'm a double duvet comforter sleeper myself, plus flannel sheets when it's below breezing overnight. But we've had a milder winter so instead of switching to flannel in November and not switching back until March, I've switched back and forth as there's been too many mild nights here in Northern, VA. I keep the thermostat very low at night 62 degrees.

Health!
Small suffering, swift recovery!
Best wishes! If you're up to it at some point, you might check out the various "best" and "worst" Superbowl ads. It was a pretty pathetic year, in my opinion. Too many frenetic, loud, obnoxious ads where you couldn't tell what the product was supposed to be. Oh, and featuring too many former celebrities who have grown bald and beardy and all look pretty much alike at this point.
Hmm. Maybe just listen to soothing music.
Salamander, I totally agree with your assessment of the Super Bowl ads. Looking on the bright side, it was one of the few Super Bowls that totally lived up to the hype for the football. All in all, a fair tradeoff IMO. And tonight when I get home from work, I can delete the four hours off my DVR, since I have no incentive to go through picking out brilliant ads I want to watch over and over again.
Is "I've got a bad cold" the new 2023 euphemism for "I've probably got Omicron but would rather not know it"? 😛
By coincidence, I got a COVID test yesterday and the results came back today. No COVID!
That was more directed at my in-laws who refuse to test, but yea.
Anyway, glad to hear it! Feel better, man.
For years we were told to avoid dairy during colds but turns out it was a lie by Big Cow, so feel free to use milk with that can of campbells comfort soup.

Awe Kevin, feeling sorry for ya. Drink lots of fluids and get well. Don't forget chicken soup. The wonder of medicines.
Pretty sure I've gotten the cold twice this month, and at least one of those times was from a coworker who told me they had a cold but did not A)stay home or B)wear a mask with it.
These California colds really suck. My wife caught one from our granddaughter in San Diego last week and I caught it from her this weekend. Living on decongestants, antihistamines, and pain meds. Tested negative for Covid, so I guess that's a positive.
Maybe the alien invasion force drifting overhead will put an end to our misery. Didn't know that Romulan ships would be so vulnerable to Sidewinder missiles.

Hey, nice turn of phrase!
Try elderberry syrup - not gummies - in winter and/or keep Zicam or generic equivalent (CVS) tablets on hand & follow directions at first sign of cold with one exception: take 2 at first, rather than one.
I once failed to keep ZICAM on hand, but took zinc tablets with orange juice & it seemed effective, too.
Hope you get over this quickly.
Hmm...I noticed that the time allotted for editing is now 5 minutes (think it was only 4 earlier) & found it strange that when I added a line after having done one edit, I saw it again showed the maximum time for changes - so now there are two versions when one was expected to show. Odd way to let me know that my second change was too late.
Zinc and Zicam always worked for me. Just have to take right away.
That's why I urge people to buy in advance & always keep some on hand (some at home, some at work or while traveling; once failed to convince friends after just 2 tablets & an hour's rest that I had a cold & could not go to their party!

I would, but I've got Covid, so I'm too busy feeling sorry for myself.
Early spring pollen? Well, get, er, well, soon.
