Health update

I spoke too soon on Sunday. Things were very definitely not back to normal.

I spent Monday back at the hotel, where things seemed OK at first. My temperature was elevated, but not in the danger zone, and by bedtime it was down to 99.2. The next morning we trotted over to the Day Hospital as usual, and they measured my temperature at 100.5, so I was admitted to the main hospital.

My temperature spiked as high as 103 on Tuesday, but it's been below 99 for all of today, so the worst is over. And there's no sign of neurological fuzziness, which is super good news.

I'm very, very tired, and this is the first time I've felt up to writing even a short post. Bottom line: everything is fine. Just a normal fever that most CAR-T patients get. More later.

That's got to be tough. Fortunately Keven has a good attitude - patient, stoic, and a willingness to endure great challenges from both the disease and the cure.

Kevin, I appreciate the day-by-day update since I am interested to learn if the effect of CAR-T is as severe as it seemed in Emily Whitehead's case. The fever is a good sign of immune activity and it is awesome that the neurological signs have been absent. Keep up the good work!

Excellent news. You are in the best of care and I hope that very soon you are going full speed again.
    Take care.

May KD never become neurologically fuzzy. There may always be challenges to some of his posts & charts, but forget who the current president is? Never!

Sounds awful but you're good at keeping your eyes on the prize and will get through the bad stuff soon. (and I'll take this opportunity to thank you Kevin for helping me stay sane these last two decades).
