I had a hamburger for lunch today! It was good!
Well, it was OK. My taste buds aren't 100% back yet. I'd say maybe 80%. By next week I should be fully recovered from this horror show.
SILVER LINING DEPARTMENT: I've dropped 20 pounds over the past six weeks. I'm now merely overweight, not obese, in the unlikely event I can keep the weight off.
Excellent.
Big Kahuna Burger? I hear they got some tasty burgers!
I just got back from a doctor visit, getting some tests.
I have a bad feeling about this.
Good luck on those recovering buds Kevin. Pick a dynamite burger to test not a Big Mac.
This would be a great time to try all the junk you've always wanted to try but never had the nerve, like stargazy pie,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stargazy_pie
because you'll never know if you didn't like it or not so you'll have to try it again some other time just to be sure, and that way you'll have it twice, double the amount you would ordinarily have attempted.
Not eating food is an amazingly effective path to weight loss.
My previous COVID booster had the alarming side effect of INSTANTLY making everything taste bitter. I mean, we stopped after getting our shots for lunch and I couldn't eat my falafel because it was so bitter. Went online and found this is a known side effect--including the 'immediate' part. Weird. It was 4 days before we were leaving for a 3 week eat-fest in Japan so I was pretty freaked out--but after 48 hours, completely back to normal and didn't interfere at all with our vacation.
Anyway, it's pretty horrible to have your pleasure in eating taken away and I have been rooting for you, Kevin. So glad it's almost all better.
Nothing beats the Food Sucks diet.
Not to be grim but this is where those counterintuitive "actually overweight and obese people live longer" findings come from. Healthy people find it very hard to lose weight, voluntarily or otherwise.
