Here's the latest on the multiple myeloma front:
This was my first test since July, and obviously the results aren't so hot. There's nothing here to be seriously upset about, but it looks like my current chemo med is starting to lose effectiveness and it will soon be time to switch to another one. I'll discuss it with my oncologist at my next appointment.
Best wishes, KD.
Darn, I though that all of this was behind you...that you were in and would remain in a stable place....changing meds can be crappy.
But I am certain, (because we need you), that you will handle this with your normal stoic aplomb. (which also helps all of us by your example).
Stay Well & Best Wishes, Traveller
Amen
Well said.
Could not agree more
We can hope the better medicines keep coming, but maybe this one will decide to hold the line for a bit.
Some new treatments were even approved this year.
Fucking hell, cancer sucks. May your suffering be slight.
Be well...
(almost said Be Best--never really got that phrase)
You are one of the few intelligent bloggers. Looking forward to more.
Hope the new treatment regimen does the job super well.
Do they ever go back to old medicines to see if they will work again? If it's been 2 years since you've been on Revlimid, is it even an option to restart it and see if it can give you more time before starting a totally new med?
Has Powell dying from the coronavirus due to having this factored in to any decision making re: treatments or testing vaccine antibodies etc.?
Wishing and praying that things continue to go well for you. It's been almost 20 years with you.
Hang in there dude. I am grateful for the meds they have developed but I hope for more and better ones.
Long term MMer here. (Dx 2007) Your trend over time seems good. Fluctuating M-spikes are normal. Pom/dex maintenance may still be effective in spite of the uptick. I’ve been on Dara/Rev/dex since 2016. I also get IVIG once a month. My spike bounces around from 1.4 to 1.9. I don’t feel any different. We watch, we wait and take a very conservative approach to a change in treatment. You seem to be feeling decent (Italy excursion and daily blogging). Stay safe and be vigilant about avoiding infections.

Hang in there Kevin. There is a good med out there waiting for you.
