I’ve been a fan since Calpundit. You’ve been my sane guide over all these years. Thank you. I hope and pray you for your recovery.

    Kevin,

I started following you mid- to late Mother Jones and haven’t missed a post since. As many have said, yours is an outstanding voice of reason and comfort.

To your everlasting credit you’ve also engendered an amazing community of commentators whom I have followed with equal avidity.

Hang in there, we’re all pulling for you.

Oh Kevin I don’t even know what to say. I’m so, so sorry to hear that. I’ve been reading you for the better part of twenty years now. I hope you’re doing okay as possible. Still hoping for a full recovery for you. You and Marian are in my thoughts.

Daily reader for the last… almost 20 years. Thank you for being a voice of reason, clarity, sanity and insight. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Damn, that sucks. I hope you still pull out from this, even if it's becoming less likely. And if you don't, you fought the good fight against cancer for ten years.

If I could only follow three blogs, one of them would be yours. I haven't always agreed with you, but you've always been your own man on this stuff - always looking deeper than the Discourse, always questioning, and putting out useful primers all the time.

Another 20+ year reader from the Calpundit days. You're one of the finest bloggers ever and a daily go-to for me. Sending you all the best wishes.

Kevin. I have followed you since the early 2000s. Through GWB years, John Kerry, the works. Wishing you the very best. Either on this side or the other side if that's where it goes. I shall try to light a candle for you in a local church, as you have lit my life so many times. Sincerely John in London, England

    Kevin,

Since your Mother Jones days, I've relied on and appreciated your insightful comments, data-driven analysis, and "gut-check" quest for answers and clarity in a world of incomplete, inaccurate, and/or misleading information (sometimes intentional, sometimes unintentional). Thank you also for sharing your 10+-year health challenges - your diligence and commitment to publishing even during some of your most difficult days has often been inspiring and flat-out amazing. You've rallied and recovered so many times when things looked darkest...may this be another such time. Will be thinking of you often with much gratitude, hope and optimism, and prayers for better days ahead.

I followed you from Mother Jones days and have always appreciated your search for knowledge of all kinds from the stars to the smallest flower. And of course the charts, even when I could barely follow them. When other news goes batshit I would turn to you for a no less impassioned but composed presence.

I don’t really know you and you don’t know me but I am holding you, Marian and all that hold you dear in the light.

Speak through the earthquake, wind, and fire,
O still, small voice of calm.

This, my friends, is how a mensch faces his end. Thank you, thank Marian, thank Hilbert, Charlie and all the other cats. We look forward to further calls for sanity, even if they ARE ALL IN CAPITALS.

Yet another reader who somehow found you on Calpundit, followed you to Mother Jones, and read you even more avidly on Jabberwocking. Like most readers, I imagine, I very seldom commented - and when I did it was to push back on some (IMO) inane comment that someone had made in response to your post.

Like most of us, I take some perverse pride in not agreeing with *anyone* on *everything* - but over the years I've found myself agreeing with you far more often than any writer I read regularly. Importantly, this is not because I think we always started off with the same perspective, but because you so often persuaded me (with data!) that my preconceived notions were wrong.

After 20 years you've even (almost) gotten me to the point where I would not reflexively reject a cat over a dog for my next pet.

I was very lucky to have met you on one of your trips to London. Your blog has informed me and helped keep me sane for decades now.

Yet another Calpundit-era reader chiming in. I'd like to think the prayers of agnostics count for a lot, since they're so rare and precious. So you've got mine. Also, we need you way more right now than the Other Side does, so as far as I'm concerned they're going to have to wait their fucking turn.

    Sending healing vibes your way.

Another long time (since MJ) reader and seldom commenter. You're a beacon of sanity and reason in a time of crazed and craven politicians. I'm hoping the best for you and for Marian.

Oh no! Please get better, for your sake, your wife’s sake, and for the world’s sake. You’re a force for good in the world.

You’re one of three blogs I regularly read. I’ve read yours for over 15 years. I assign your articles to my college students. I’m really hoping you pull through.

Sending all my healing vibes and well wishes your way!
