Health update

Pneumonia appears slightly better today. Maybe. Hard to tell for sure.

My oncologist finally showed up this afternoon and finally agreed my immune system was shot. A multiple myeloma specialist tells me this is a common side effect of bispecific therapies like Talvey. Oh. So we've agreed on a treatment that spurs regrowth of immunoglobulins. It will take a week or three to have an effect. It's too bad we didn't start this three weeks ago when we first knew.

I generally feel slightly better today than yesterday. Maybe tomorrow will be even better.

Oh, and it turns I have a colon infection. That's at least four so far.

As everyone is saying, I too am so glad to see your post today that you are feeling slightly better. Every up and down you have, please know that a bunch of us are rooting for you to have a good quality of life as you face this disease. My sister-in-law also has multiple myeloma, and it is such a difficult disease to treat.

My husband of 30+ years passed away after a long illness, and I know that with his disease we often measured "good quality of life" by the simple metric of feeling well enough, and being with people you love. Some of the best moments came from holding hands together. It's good being with family, friends and cats. I'm glad you have that.

I have read your blog since CalPundit, mostly as a lurker, but I wanted to send you my best and I hope that you and the docs can get these infections knocked down.

I never realized how much freedom I could have in my career until I started working like this. Last month, fidf I earned exactly $16,536, and it still feels unreal that I can do this without the stress of a regular 9-to-5. If you’d like to see how this

      works..... https://make2run221.blogspot.com/

I hope you've read the posts and comments at LGM and Balloon Juice. You should show them to the docs and nurses to convince them that you are a Very Important Person, but I bet they've figured that out for themselves already.

It's soooo good to hear from you, Kevin. I was dreading coming to the site today. I don't understand why the hospital, or someone, had'nt contacted your oncologist before now.

Phew! Like many others, I was holding my breath coming to the site. This is great news, Kevin.
Still hoping for the best for you and yours.

Another longtime reader hoping tomorrow is an even better day for you and many years of blogging and photos to come.

I also wanted to say how much I appreciate your decades of blogging. As a quant researcher I value the way you time and again bring empericism to questions. Even when I disagree with your conclusions, you challenge me when I'm sloppy and make my thinking sharper.

I'm so glad you're a little better. I'm not going to stop my praying until I see a chart here on Jabberwocking, adjusted for inflation of course.

Longtime reader since your Washington Monthly days here. You finally got me to register on this site. Hang in there and hope you feel better soon.

Hi Kevin - You need to stay alive long enough for me to buy you (and Marion, if she is so inclined) dinner and a drink! We've never met, but you have been a regular part of my life for decades. So suck it up and LIVE!!
