Health update

Pneumonia appears slightly better today. Maybe. Hard to tell for sure.

My oncologist finally showed up this afternoon and finally agreed my immune system was shot. A multiple myeloma specialist tells me this is a common side effect of bispecific therapies like Talvey. Oh. So we've agreed on a treatment that spurs regrowth of immunoglobulins. It will take a week or three to have an effect. It's too bad we didn't start this three weeks ago when we first knew.

I generally feel slightly better today than yesterday. Maybe tomorrow will be even better.

Oh, and it turns I have a colon infection. That's at least four so far.

Kevin. Stay with us dude. If my mother can recover from deaths door FIVE times there’s hope. And in our time of despair your Feb 12 post was the most moving post I’ve yet read. Thank you buddy.

    !!!!!

Rarely have I been so happy and relieved to see an update on a blog.

You are a tough old bird, Kevin. I am overjoyed to see you still hanging in there.

So happy to hear! Keep fighting! Not a lot of hope going around but we all have plenty of hope for you! Best of Luck!

What a relief... As someone previously said, ignore the news and the orange oaf... Watch whatever makes you laugh, Laurel and Hardy maybe??? Too bad Charlie and Hilbert can't pay you a visit.

Such a relief to see a post. We are the same age and tend to see the world the same. I have needed your sanity since blogs were a new thing! I do believe in magic- whether it is modern medicine or the output of good will by masses of people. I will be adding to the good will cloud. Hopefully the magic of modern medicine will take care of the rest. Marion and the cats and your mother and sister are in my good will cloud as well.

    Love you.

Doctors shouldn't really be surprised to discover that when you load a patient up with drugs that suppress immune response that patient will likely get infectious diseases. The self proclaimed "best medical system in the world" really ought to do better. Alas we've elected people that pledge to make it much worse.

"GL is primarily used in cancer therapy for its ability to stimulate the immune system. In addition, it can increase the activity of standard cancer treatments (chemotherapy and radiation therapy) and help decrease the side effect of these therapies. GL has been shown in laboratory studies to activate immune cells including T lymphocytes, macrophages, Natural Killer cells, and cytokines (interleukins, tumor necrosis factor and interferons), which may help the body attack the cancer cells. GL is sanctioned by the Japanese Health Ministry to be given in conjunction with standard cancer therapy."

I hate to say "thank God" when you tell us you have a colon infection, but I am so relieved to see another post from you.
