    Hoping for the best. I found you during the Obama years through Andrew Sullivan, who frequently linked to your work. You're pretty much the last blogger of that era that I still read on the regular. End of an era if we lose you, but you've done a lot of good and made me a better citizen.

    You've made the discourse smarter, more insightful, more measured (a virtue all its own in these hyperreactive times), and more humane for more years than I care to count at this point. I've always looked forward to your well-timed posts that either debunk the latest fake trend or open our collective eyes to a new one that nobody else is writing about yet. I very much hope that things turn around, but if they don't, you'll leave a wonderful legacy that others will emulate and carry on. Goodspeed, Kevin, and we thank you.
