There wasn't much change on the hiring front in January:
Hires continue to decline and are now at about their 2019 level. And just for laughs, here are the winners and losers in January compared to December:

Seems like the big winners were industries where most workers will vote against the party/president that has had the biggest positive employment impact in decades (ever?) for those industries.
Hiring better start drifting downward
There are fewer people available to work
This is a new paradigm
The boomers have left and are still leaving the building........
I would not have guessed mining and logging as a great job creator in winter. Wonder what explains that.
Also, what's the base in each category? This is where actual numbers would be an informative supplement to the percentage changes.
Aside from financial and professional services, is this indicative of a move back towards an industrial society?
