Illegal immigration remains steady in February

CBP released border numbers on Friday and they were about the same as last month:

Total encounters in February came to 190,000, of which 42,000 were migrants who made appointments for asylum through CBP's mobile app. The number apprehended crossing illegally was 141,000.

About 29,000 immigrants gained temporary residence via the CHNV parole program in February. Total numbers under the program are now nearly 400,000:

Through the end of February 2024, over 386,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans arrived lawfully and were granted parole under the parole processes. Specifically...79,000 Cubans, 151,000 Haitians, 64,000 Nicaraguans, and 91,000 Venezuelans arrived lawfully and were granted parole.

Obama Boats? ... But of course "Biden Boats" would flow better.

On a less facetious note, I was under the impression travel restrictions on Cubans were a bit more relaxed these days than days of yore.

They fly to countries that do not require a visa (shortest route is Nicaragua), then travel overland to the Mexican border. No one's the wiser.

It'll be really hard to limit immigration from Haiti at this point. It's curious why there's barely any talk about what's happening in Haiti -- it's like people have given up on post-2010 earthquake-devastated Haiti.

Bob Woodward was said to have warned Trump that Covid would define his presidency.

Someone needs to warn Biden that Catch and Release will define his.

'Panic over the brown people' has long been an American pasttime.....Bidens time in office isnt really unique in this way. I mean sure, the showrunners have come up with a new title and new names for characters....but its the same show weve seen over and over.

      EVERYBODY PANIC!
