Frustrating times for me. I'm just starting to recover enough energy to read the news, but not really deeply. On the surface, though, everything seems to be going bonkers.
In New York we have this dude Daniel Penny who killed an annoying subway rider—and the entire right wing is backing him up. This comes a week after Texas Gov. Greg Abbott promised to pardon a convicted murderer because the guy had only killed a BLM protester, after all.
The Durham Report is out, and it appears to be the usual Durham farrago of innuendo and speculation but without any real evidence of any wrongdoing. Nonetheless, Tommy Tuberville says people need to go to jail or we might as well cancel elections in this country. What?
Joe Biden has given up on his "no negotiations" position on the debt ceiling, producing a growing mountain of crackpot demands from Republicans.
Elon Musk's latest is to compare George Soros to X-Men supervillain Magneto.
And AI might wreck everything, but Congress appears to have no idea how or if to regulate it—which seems close to impossible anyway.
Oh, and I almost forgot about Rudy. He's being sued for what? Sexual assault and selling off pardons? Do I have that right?
This seems like just the tip of the iceberg. Are things really crazier than usual, or is it just that I'm only reading headlines so far but not really diving much deeper? Help me out.
Among all the usually crazy shit and the mass shootings which occur about twice a week, the right defending the murderers of people they don't like, and the former Whitehouse occupant crowing about multiple witch hunts, there was some good stuff too.
That Orange fuckhead lost in court to a woman, George Santos was indicted on felony charges (but remains in Congress), and Ed Sheeran won his copywrite infringement case (I only know Sheeran from the movie Yesterday and that he avoided being killed by Aria Stark in GOT, but I am sick and tired of lawsuits trying to claim ownership of a chord progression)
Really stretching to use Sheeran as good news, but I, too, only know him from the movie Yesterday!
It is good news. It would have destroyed original music.

And Harry and Meghan got chased around New York by a swarm of paparazzi vehicles. I mean, it's the top news story on CNN right now. Must be important.
As always, "Touch grass".
The symbol-manipulating nonsense of the symbol-manipulating class simply does not matter if you are willing to opt out of it.
It only matters insofar as it touches reality, and the most recent news on that front is actually pretty good. The dismal showing of Russian missiles against US missile defenses recently PROBABLY reduces the likelihood of war over Taiwan. A Chinese government that's less deluded about how easily hypersonic missiles can get to either Taiwan or through Aegis is probably a less aggressive government.
Laura Ingraham has been fired?
It says on Twitter.
Fifteen minutes before CNN offers her a primtime spot.
