Last week I told you I had three wildflowers I had never been able to identify. So why not let you guys take a crack at all of them? Here is mystery picture #2, a medium-size violet flower with dark violet stripes.
UPDATE: Probably a common mallow.

my plant identifying phone app says common mallow, aka high mallow, marsh mallow, cheese flower, blue mallow.
not sure how accurate that is, especially taking a pic off my laptop, but looks right to me.
My phone app also says common mallow, and it was very quick to decide.
UPDATE: You’re welcome…
and what to you get when you search form "flower march mallow?"
Marshmallow flowers on top of hot chocolate.
Lavender love monkey.
I'll fight anyone who disagrees.
Yes, yes, yes, but what about Hopper? The silence about her condition is freaking me out.
Looks like a wild geranium to me. They use to grow all around the barn in the great NW. A bit pesky but sweet as can be.
Sighh88 you are correct. Wild geranium have more rounded petals and more pronounced "cuts" in the leaves.
Yes, what is the word on Hooper? ?
The structure of the pistil and stamens is different, too. In a geranium, there's a long, pointed stigma on the pistil in the center, with the stamens arrayed around it a fair bit away. In mallows (including hibiscus), the stamens are usually tightly clustered around the pistil, giving it a brush-like appearance.
Hopper is fine. I was at the vet this morning and her wound is almost totally healed. Also, it looks like everything is still alive down there. We should know for sure on Saturday.
Thank you! I remind you that you used almost the exact words last week: "We should know for sure on Saturday."
