This is the Hollywood/Highland station on the LA subway's Line B. I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like. Does anyone know?

Could be used for atomic physics research in its down time.

The World of Tomorrow inside the Superconducting Supercollider.
As when two trains meet and provide data for analysis.

Perhaps it's supposed to appear like the image in a mirror of a mirror. An infinite series of the image.

A fancy station designed to increase ridership from 40 people a day to 80?

Tube for the future maglev trains.

The orange lighting fixtures are clearly a metaphor for a flower. The four repeating fixtures on each column, further subdivided into 2 spreading petals, is a fairly literal representation but with an Art Nouveau flair.
The curved metal is multipurpose, first as a ceiling to hide the raw concrete structure, but also to mirror a modern high-speed rail aesthetic of a "tube". The overall layout -- with ribs and perforated panels -- are a nod to the legacy of LA decon.

I think it is a pic of my last colonoscopy

Were they able to get all of the polyps?

May I ask where you bought such an attractive colon?
On my last colonoscopy they gave me a printout of scenic highlights from the tour, because I'm special.
Had to be talked out of using it for a Christmas card. I had the most beautiful plans to decorate it. And, of course, I would have shared it here.
Still can, actually.

Okay.

Enjoyed the humorous comments & am thankful that I don't need to enter anything even remotely resembling that.

Discovery's turbo lift system? You know, the one that's bigger than the ship it is inside.

It is supposed to look like a 25% markup from the cost of a utilitarian station.

Also, there's a better picture of the station here:
