We're on vacation again! This is our first big vacation in five years thanks to this and that and, of course, COVID-19. But everything has gone swimmingly so far on this one. The flight was on time; our driver met us punctually at the airport; the weather is good (a little warm for me, but fine for most people); and we are happily ensconced in our little room. And, obviously, fully connected to the internet.
Needless to say, my sister is house sitting and reports that the cats adore her already. She is trying to get used to working with Hilbert sprawled across the desk.
But where are we?
Stockholm
Stockholm is called the Venice of the North, it's full of rivers. But I was thinking Paris myself despite the boat with the Swedish colors. Googling it's 55 and raining in Stockholm but 71 and sunny in Paris.
I suppose the other place they would paint a ship’s funnel blue and yellow is Ukraine. But (a) Ukraine uses a lighter blue and (b) it seems like a bad time to vacation in Odessa.
Looks Parisian.
i'm guessing it isn't kansas
Paris.
I just returned from a 3 day business trip from there.
Hint: ratp logo on train plus a very small bit of the Eifel tower.
So it’s Las Vegas then?
But be careful: RATP is no longer only operating in Paris, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RATP_Group
So the logo is necessary, but not sufficient to locate this pic to Paris.
The hunk of the Eiffel Tower in the top right of the picture is, though.
I need someone to point exactly to where the Eiffel Tower hunk is, because I can't seem to find it.
Very top right corner. You see clearly if you enlarge that section of the photograph.
good eye
The RATP logo did it for me too! ????????????
If I'm not mistaken, that green and white train is the Paris metro.
PARIS!

(Try street view, there is even the ship with the blue/yellow stack.)
Well done!
I love the internet.
They have a K-Mart in Paris!
That's nuthin' - they have Circle-K in Norway!-)
Do we have K-Marts here anymore????
Wow.
I did that too.

You're not going all Andrew Sullivan on us, are you?
I always liked the View from My Window feature.
Paris! Wish I were there.
Okay, I cheated. The boat in the foreground has a nameplate. Adjusting the brightness by a logarithmic brightness tweak reveals the name "Clipaiplli Paris".
So it is Paris.
You did't cheat. You employed photo analysis.
I did that too.

Copenhagen.
Take the Batobus is you haven't already, it's great. (for all I know your picture may be from the Batobus)
The other Paris secret? Get the Museum pass. Available in 2 day, 4 day or 6 day versions, it works at over 50 museums and monuments. Best of all it lets you jump the que.
