This is a young man reading a book at the very tip of the Île de la Cité, the island in the middle of the Seine that was the original site of Paris. I had never walked out to the very end, so I decided to do it this time. Maybe next time I'll see if (I'm allowed to) walk out to the other end.

Every time I go back to Paris I check out this spot.
Always pleasantly surprised its not packed with tourists.
Well, the other end of the island is the memorial to people deported to Nazi death camps, so there's no reason for you to not be allowed in.
It's a small and quite moving memorial, well designed for the shape of the location.
Nice pic. Now google for the cover of the book called "Andre Kertesz, Paris, Autumn 1963" for something similar.
