This is the Fountain of Apollo in the gardens of Versailles. The top photo is the view from the palace side looking out toward the Grand Canal. The bottom photo is taken in the other direction, looking up from the fountain to the palace.

HDR does not compensate for low saturation / gray from overcast/haze.
Eh? I almost never use HDR, and I definitely didn't in this case. Shooting conditions were excellent: lots of clouds, but very bright on the ground.
That's one amazing fountain! It makes me wish less of it was underwater.
