I'm reminded of paintings of some of the Japanese mythological creatures, the name(s) of which elude me at the moment, particularly the ones likely to be in ferocious stance, wielding a sword. Those demonic eyes!

Well, that was my first thought. After I read the caption I realized they were car headlights, with the camera exposure done so that no background is exposed enough to be visible.
