This is Monet's cottage in Giverny. I didn't go inside because I'd already seen it and it was jammed with busloads of tourists (like me). However, I did carefully scout out a spot that made it look nice and peaceful, as it should.

Do you have Photoshop filters to turn it into an image of a painting? Or is that an AI thing?

  Oh yes, Photoshop has all sorts of image filters, and you can buy others. I'll bet somebody has a "Make it look like Monet" filter out there.
  
  I don't use them much because most people don't like them.

Why that looks just like my house. Because it's so cold I'm starting to hallucinate. Feels like -32, and it may not get better until Saturday.

I started blogging in 2002 at my own site. In 2004 I got hired by the Washington Monthly and then moved to Mother Jones in 2008, where I blogged and wrote for the print magazine for 12 years. Finally, in 2021, I came full circle, leaving MoJo to once again blog at my own site.

Prior to blogging, I was vice president of marketing for Kofax Image Products, a software company in Irvine, California. I’m married, no kids, two cats. In 2014 I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. It’s currently incurable, but modern treatments are pretty good and I remain alive and hopeful that a cure is on the way.
