Actually, the really obvious pixelation is in the sand, probably from the sharpening that was done. But I like the photo

You really have to open the full-size image in a separate browser tab to see what I'm talking about. The problem is especially apparent above the mountains along the left edge.
The sand mostly looks pretty good to me, though I suspect the very closest objects like the nearest parts of the stone and the sand along the bottom edge weren't quite in focus and so sharpening effects become more apparent.

Do you use Nik filters?
I use them for B/W conversions from color, after I've made initial adjustments of the RAW file in Raw Therapee.
Or, it could be a meat loaf. They petrify quickly in that harsh environment.
