Lunchtime Photo

Here's a pigeon hanging out on a traditional French chimney. But where? I can't quite remember. It's just across one of the bridges on the right bank of the Seine, but I can't put my finger on exactly where I was.

    Can't remember the last time I saw a lone pigeon, on a telephone line, or on the ground, but this one is more distinctive for its setting.u

    But where? I can't quite remember.

    And why did I take the picture? I cannot remember that either. And does it matter? Does it matter where the pigeon is, or why I took the picture? Why should a pigeon matter, or a picture? Why should *I* matter? And why should that matter? Is there a need to matter, a necessity? Or is it only an imagined necessity, a compulsion, perhaps a delusion? Indeed, is there any point to even asking these questions?

    And yet, the pigeon sits.
