Lunchtime Photo

This is downtown Los Angeles at night viewed from Angeles Crest Highway. City Hall is off to the left. There's a thin marine layer settling in south of downtown, with the lights of Long Beach behind it and then yet another marine layer over the ocean.

Impressive, but probably equally far from you, you should also maybe try La Jolla Cove...it has been a while since I was there and different rules apply...areas on ledges there, are now closed due to sea lions being in pupping season....but maybe will be closed longer. (I've seen some pretty appalling human behavior towards sea lions....{as I think about it, several severe lifeguard warnings still had to be shouted out to people a couple of days ago...Damn!})

Due to a leg cramping injury 8 days ago, (getting old sucks), I could not go ocean swimming or even snorkeling, (something I should not be doing anyway), but be that as it may...these restrictions forced me to spend some time with the fauna, do some reasonably impressive photography, (nothing like your astro photography), but good enough....still, you are close enough to La Jolla to give it an afternoon and early evening if you wanted to. Best Wishes, Traveller
