I went up to Palomar Mountain last night to do a bit of astrophotography testing, but when I got there I encountered gale force winds even though the weather report—as I was standing there watching the trees bend—told me the wind was blowing at 7 mph. Stupid weather forecasters.
Plus the moon was up, which made things worse. In any case, my deep sky pictures were a mess. The wind prevented the guider from working, so I mostly got lots of blobby and streaky photos.
However, I did get a nice picture with my regular camera, so that's what you get instead. The lights in the distance are from Oceanside.

wapo whipping the centrist 'college kids are awful' hobby horse
###
Americans have increasingly sorted themselves according to ideological orientation. They are working, living and socializing with people who think the same things they do. Particularly on college campuses, a culture of seeking sameness has set up young Americans for disappointment. They expect people to share their own convictions and commitments.

they could have easily replaced 'on college campuses' with 'in our church pews', 'fox news households', or 'fasc-friendly social media platforms'
but no, centrists gotta go for the soft target, especially one that might be more responsive to working the refs than the right wing cesspits

The moon, because of its actual brightness as opposed to apparent...you found a good balance...it is an effective image....so good on you. Traveller
Nice.
