This is the Queen Mary, docked at Long Beach harbor. The stacks have a wavering look to them, as if I shot this from a mile away with a 2000mm lens, but that's just an artifact of shooting through the front windshield of my car. For some reason, even though the street was empty, I was apparently too lazy to open the door and shoot the picture normally.

I live on the East Coast. We have lots of inland waterways, with lots of drawbridges to let the boating traffic through the highway crossings. The view in your picture looks exactly like what I'm used to seeing as I approach a draw bridge that's raised to allow a boat to pass through the draw.
I don't remember seeing a 3-stack ship in that situation, though maybe I haven't paid close enough attention.

The ship is well past the bridge I believe. Kevin's telephoto lens is messing with the perspective a bit I think.
Were you driving on the wrong side of the road?
No, the lanes merge down there from several to one.

I feel like I punched a hole in the multiverse.
Venture Bros, hooray! Orphan Black, meh. I felt like after season one it just got so random. I don't know, maybe I should give it another shot.
Pretty cool photo, Kevin.
Why are there five lanes in one direction, but only one in the other?

Because the four lanes are for stacked truck traffic at an intersection at the port gate. There's actually even more lanes.
