Lunchtime Photo

This is a little boat landing on the outskirts of Giverny. The stream is the Epte River, which runs along the entire southern edge of town. It doesn't look like much, but it's 70 miles long and empties into the Seine a few miles from this spot.

      Indeed. Kevin makes a non-French speaker mistake but a typical one. A rivière is not a river unless it's big. Conversely, a river is not a rivière but a fleuve if it enters into the sea. The Saône is big and empties into the Rhône and thus is both a rivière and a river. But most rivières are streams if they're fastmoving or creeks if they're not. A very small stream or creek, though, is a ruisseau.
