This is an iris alstroemeria in our front yard, taken at dusk with fill flash. I don't especially like the look, but it's still interesting occasionally to see the difference between artificial and natural lighting.

I don't mean to correct you, but it doesn't look like an iris from this angle...
yeah, i don't see the typical 3/6 symmetry you'd expect in an iris
but i'm no expert
I was thinking the same thing.
I know what an iris is, and this is not one. It looks similar to an amaryllis, but I am not sure if it is an amaryllis or a different, related species.
